Why people should be breathing in marjiuana smoke, not inhaler fluid to prevent asthma

vvxcThe immense health benefits of marijuana aren’t exactly a secret.

To anyone who has been willing to do even the slightest amount of research, it’s clear that not only is marijuana not the evil, dangerous drug that it was once demonized as being — it’s actually been proven to improve many health woes.

Consider the fact that it has now been shown to relieve the symptoms of asthma.

The British Journal of Pharmacology recently published a study that documents exactly how smoking marijuana can work as a sort of natural health alternative to an inhaler. Leaf Science breaks it down for us laymen, stating, “Using samples of human lung tissue, French researchers found that THC could block muscle contractions caused by a signaling molecule called acetycholine.”

They go on to explain, “Acetycholine is responsible for maintaining muscle tone of the airways and also contributes to contractions in asthma attacks. Interestingly, asthma medications block the same molecule, but from a slightly different angle.”

In essence, smoking marijuana works the same way as using an inhaler — but it can be even more effective.

Taking THC orally is also an option, but the effects are delayed and the results are too weak. The smoke itself is part of the magic ingredient when it comes to marijuana treating asthma. Isn’t natural science fascinating?

Hopefully this news spreads like wildfire and those suffering from asthma become fervent supporters of cannabis. While we’re inching closer and closer to marijuana legalization across the country, we still have a ways to go. Many Americans are still in the dark when it comes to the actual health benefits of marijuana — believing the old hype that it is an evil drug that ruins lives and destroys families.

Some people just can’t seem to wake up on their own. Help give them a little push so that we can help create a healthier, freer America.
