Barcelona refuse to dampen Paul Pogba rumours

Manchester United will make a decision over potentially selling Paul Pogba to Barcelona over the course of the next 24 to 36 hours, it has been claimed in Italy.

United insisted on Monday night that Pogba is not for sale and they are believed to have rejected an opening offer from Barcelona of £44.6million plus two players - Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes.

The Frenchman has often been criticized for his subpar performances at Old Trafford, but in recent months, much of the criticism from fans and media has switched to Mourinho, especially in the wake of Pogba's stellar performance in France's World Cup winning effort.

Things have not come easy for Paul Pogba at Manchester United, and it appears to be taking its toll.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly being considered for a big managerial role amid the uncertainty around his future with the Red Devils.

'I think the World Cup is the flawless habitat for a player like him to give the best. Why? With that out of the way he's coming good though we all know he can do even better.

It is added that Pogba was disappointed by Mourinho's public digs at his World Cup performances.

'The players are in a closed camp, isolated from the external world, from commercial compromises, and every possible influence'.

Pogba moved to Manchester United in the summer of 2016 for a then-record $121 million, and has been stuck with massive expectations ever since. And with just three days until the close of the transfer market in England, Barcelona have very little time to close a deal.

Pogba has been linked with the Catalan giants throughout the summer and it was reported yesterday that United had turned down a cash-plus-players bid for the France global.
