Fallout 76 announced by Bethesda Game Studios

"Fallout 76" is a new experience for console and PC, exploring events hundreds of years before 2015's Fallout 4. And towards the end the broadcast states, "In vault 76 our future begins".

What do you think of this new Fallout? It is highly unlikely that any of the gameplay elements from Battlecry Studios' cancelled hero shooter would carry over to this new Fallout game.

The sources say the game will still have quests and a main story, just like traditional Fallout games, but will also have a focus on base building and online multiplayer. There were speculations whether fans would have to stay patient until Bethesda's E3 press conference in the coming weeks but thankfully today we got some extra information. According to the in-game lore, Vault 76 is one of Vault-Tec's "control vaults", created to be one of the first to open up to the outside world 20 years after the 2077 apocalypse.

Bethesda will reveal more information on Fallout 76 at its E3 showcase taking place Sunday, June 10 at 6:30PM PT/9:30PM ET. The goal was to envision what an online version of Fallout would look like, though the sources indicate that Fallout 76 has evolved, like most online games do, quite a bit from its humble beginnings. This is much earlier than any other game in the Fallout universe. "Those people, speaking anonymously so as not to damage their careers, confirmed that Fallout: 76 is an experimental new entry in the longrunning post-apocalyptic series".

The setting of Vault 76 actually makes sense for a game of this type, which would be more of a prequel than other Fallout games were. There are a few things shown in the teaser, including a Pip-Boy, celebration of the "Reclamation Day" and a single dweller, wearing a Vault 76 suit.

In Fallout 3 it was listed on a Vault-Tec terminal in the Brotherhood of Steel's Citadel. In the meantime, let us know your best guesses below! This tweet mentions the idea of "a Fallout themed Rust clone" and mentions Fallout 76 by name a day before the reveal.
