Amazon Fire TV Edition TVs are now a thing

Amazon Fire TV Edition TVs are now a thing

The first Fire smart TV from Toshiba will be available in the United States this summer, with additional models released later this year. The Fire Edition TVs by Insignia and Toshiba are created to work seamlessly with Amazon's own voice assistant Alexa. In fact, Best Buy will even include Amazon's technology within its private-label brand Insigna. You can also pair your TV with your Echo to integrate all of your devices.

Amazon Fire TV products have - since the beginning - come off as Amazon Prime machines.

"Our goal is to enrich the lives of our customers by offering them the very best products and services, whether they come to us online, visit our stores, or invite us into their home", Hubert Joly, Best Buy chairman and CEO, said in a statement. Best Buy will be the exclusive seller for more than 10 4K and HD Fire TV Edition models made by Toshiba and Best Buy's Insignia brand starting this summer.

"Our partnership with Amazon is exciting because we believe Fire TV Edition delivers an incredible user experience and further strengthens the growing connection between home theater, home automation and voice control". And Best Buy, which operates 1, o00 stores, will showcase TVs running on the Fire system at those locations and on its website.

The new Fire TV Edition televisions can be operated with voice commands using the Amazon Alexa personal assistant software.

The announcement marks another collaboration between the two rival retailers, with Best Buy already selling many Amazon devices in its stores and bringing a limited set of its inventory for sale via voice shopping on Amazon's Alexa. The highlight feature of the Smart TVs is, of course, the Alexa integration.

This partnership also shows that Amazon realizes it needs to cooperate with retailers as it becomes more of a hardware company, Baker said. But if what I've experienced with Fire TV devices over the past several years remains true, I recommend you steer clear of the whole lineup.

You could. Just like you could buy a Roku Streaming Stick+ instead of one of the many excellent Roku TVs.
