Mexican politicians unite to slam deployment of United States guardsmen

The Mexican Senate on Wednesday "categorically" rejected a U.S. initiative to militarize the U.S. -Mexico border to thwart undocumented migrants. One volunteer said about 150 people had arrived in Mexico City late Friday, the Washington Post stated. "They're rapists. And some, I assume, are good people", he said previously.

The newspaper El Heraldo said in a headline Thursday "U.S. deploys National Guard. tin soldiers".

The Mexican leader took a measured tone in his remarks, spoken in front of a Mexican flag, listing the ways his country has worked with the USA, including with Trump, to "modernize" NAFTA and stop transnational criminal gangs and other things.

"(Trump's) conduct has been permanently and systematically, not only disrespectful, but insulting, based on prejudices and misinformation and making frequent use of threats and blackmail", Laura Rojas, the head of the Senate's foreign relations committee, said in support of the motion. "And yesterday, it came out where this journey coming up, women are raped at levels that nobody has ever seen before".

Trump has unleashed a flurry of furious tweets ever since seeing news reports on a caravan of more than 1,000 Central American migrants crossing Mexico toward the United States. "Hopping the train, as we did in the past, would have been insane", he said.

The letter, signed by Senate President Ernesto Cordero, called on the Mexican government to suspend bilateral cooperation in immigration matters and the fight against organized crime until "Trump behaves with civility and shows respect to Mexico". The immigrants who take part in the tradition, some say, only do so because they seek protection from some of the most risky countries in the world. "And the Democrats, what they're doing is just, it's insanity, nobody understands what's going on". The cultural diversity is a reminder of why people moved here in the first place. "It's not a conspiracy theory, folks", said Trump. "Oh yes, oh yes, a lot of people die".

Salvadoran Andres Rodriguez, 51, waited with a small backpack and a container of water in a field filled with men, women and children, mulling over a document that gave him 20 days to reach any border out of the country.

"The people are clapping and screaming. It's like it's a war", he added.

Trump was in West Virginia to showcase the benefits of Republican tax cuts, but he threw out his prepared remarks and took a detour to talk about his tough immigration and trade plans.

"Came in through chain migration or he might have also come in through a lottery".

Trump made the claim that Saipov helped 23 people immigrate to the U.S. through family-based or "chain" migration in November - federal authorities were not able to confirm this.

He threw the piece of paper with his remarks into the air, to laughter from the crowd at the event.
