Facebook's New Privacy Settings Prevent Users from Logging In on Tinder

A blue blimp with the Tinder logo was flown over Manchester on Thursday morning, and the official account's Twitter logo has been changed to sky blue ahead of the derby this weekend. At the moment, only iOS users in Sweden and Canada can give it a try but if it turns out to be successful, Tinder will release Loops to other markets as well.

Tinder acknowledged the issue on Twitter but did not responded with a comment.

A pop-up window said "Tinder requires you to provide additional Facebook permissions in order to create or use a Tinder account". Videos could boost the users' appeal and make them more interesting to potential suitors, which in turn, would mean good business for Tinder.

But users on Wednesday were stuck in purgatory, with the app failing to transition from Facebook authentication to Tinder swiping.

With outsiders' access to data under scrutiny, Facebook has outlined several changes to further tighten its policies, including restricting access that apps can get about users' events, as well as information about groups such as member lists and content.

"This was part of the changes that we announced today, and we are working with Tinder to address this issue", a Facebook representative told Select All.

Tinder is now testing a two-second looping video feature for profiles that are similar to Boomerang and Facebook's own profile videos. It throws you into an endless login loop. The move comes in the wake of Cambridge Analytica privacy scandal, but also brings some unwanted consequences along such locking Tinder accounts of users. "Bravo to Facebook for being considerate of their only valuable product". Tinder is one of those third party apps, so both platforms admitted the new restrictions caused these issues.

Twitterati had a field day after the dating app crashed. The feature was first seen on another dating app called Bumble, which also helped it gain more female users.

Facebook has been allowing users to add profile videos for a while now, and it's not a dating site.
