Insomniac's PS4 exclusive Spider-Man gets release date and Collector's Edition details

Marvel's Spider-Man was recently confirmed to launch on September 7th exclusively for the PS4.

According to Game Informer their cover story about the game will feature a lot of details about the new game, missions, side activities, collectibles and mainly will include the release date which they have teased.

The US and Canada online PlayStation Store will get a Digital Deluxe Edition that comes with the game, a pass for all the DLC, plus a physical pin of Spider-Man from the box art.

We've been waiting for Insomniac's Spider-Man title for a long time, and today we're finally finding out when it will arrive. That's exactly what they want to achieve with this game.

Outside of simply a copy of the game, the Digital Deluxe version will include 3 story chapters for the post-launch DLC, "The City That Never Sleeps".

We won't leave you in suspense, in a new brief trailer filled with new gameplay we learned that Spider-Man is dropping on September 7th, 2018. As for the game's release, all we now know is that it is slated to be coming sometime this year.

Then there's the Collector's Edition, a $149.99 collection that features all the Digital Deluxe goodness, plus a Steelbook case, art book, and Spider-Man statue. It's been shown off in an E3 trailer, and another one from Paris Games Week. Three suits have been revealed so far, including Spider-Punk, a pre-order bonus, Noir, based off of Spider-Man 1933, and the Wrestler Suit. We also know the game will feature villains like Wilson Fisk and Mr. Spider-Man is not going to die as soon as he hits water.

For those who are hoping that Spider-Man PS4 will be to the web-slinger what the Arkham series was to Batman, it certainly seems like it's shaping up that way. The game is currently an exclusive for the PlayStation 4 system, so Xbox One and PC gamers will just have to wait this one out for now.
