NY gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon embraces 'unqualified lesbian' label

In an Instagram post Thursday morning, Sarah Jessica Parker announced that longtime Sex and the City co-star Cynthia Nixon has her vote in the race for governor of NY.

Former Sex and the City star Cynthia Nixon is the latest politician to turn a critic's derogatory slam into a rallying cry for supporters.

All she had to say about the matter, in fact, was that: "Cynthia has been my friend and colleague since we were little girls". "I am thrilled to support her and I know that she cares deeply about the issues facing all of us", she wrote on Instagram.

The much-publicized fight between Parker and Cattrall, which has been rumored for years, came to a head in the wake of Cattrall losing her brother.

However, the tweet (and the buttons) obscure what Quinn-who was hired by Andrew Cuomo (New York's current governor and Nixon's political rival) as a special adviser in 2015-really said.

Parker cleared it all up on Thursday morning with an Instagram post praising Nixon and officially checking the ballot box for her "sister on and off screen".

"We want our government to work again", Nixon said in a video announcing her candidacy.

"I am so proud of @CynthiaNixon, no one cares more than she does about EVERY person getting a fair change and a good education".

"I support & respect any former colleague's right to make their own career choices", she posted.

"Sex and the City" costume designer Patricia Field told Page Six that Nixon "is an original". "She's a New York City mom, very practical and down-to-earth". "People have actually been asking me to do this for nine years".
