ZTE on Sunday added a pair of smartphones to its Blade portfolio of devices.

ZTE's one of those workhorse smartphone companies you don't hear much about, aside from the occasional misguided flirtation with a freakish form factor, a la the dual-screen Axon M. But the Chinese handset manufacturer still powers away and manages to produce some solid handsets at bargain bin prices. The smartphone comes with a dual camera setup with a 16-megapixel primary camera and a 5-megapixel secondary camera with LED Flash. The Blade V9 packs a 3100mAh battery, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. PerformanceRunning on Android Oreo 8.1 out of the box, ZTE keeps software tweaks to a minimum in a deliberate effort to make software updates quicker and easier.

The Vita has a 3,200mAh capacity battery that's sizable for a 5.5-inch 720p display.

"We are excited to work with ZTE and implement Android Oreo (Go edition) within our Snapdragon 210 Mobile Platform, as it means consumers get the reliability and security of an Android operating system without compromising on the experience, performance and capability on an affordable, excellent smartphone", said Nancy Fares, Vice President of Product Management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. Paired with this is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 clocked at 1.8 Ghz.

On the camera front, the device features a dual cameras at the back panel. Naturally, the body is downsized as well, measuring 146.8 x 68.7 x 7.6mm.

The Blade V9 Vita will be offered in two variants, one with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage and one with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. That's the cutoff price point for the Blade line, with the more premium Axon tier running $400 and up. The devices would be shipped with different set of features in different countries.

The ZTE Tempo Go is an entry-level smartphone. The Chinese smartphone maker has also announced Temp Go as its first Android Go smartphone. It comes with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of Internal Storage Memory with an expansion option. The 5.0-inch screen has a resolution of 854×480 FWVGA. The unlocked ZTE Tempo Go smartphone is priced at $80 in the United States. On the front, it comes with 13MP of front camera.
