Lauren Cohan Books ABC Pilot "Whiskey Cavalier" Amid "Walking Dead" Exit Rumors

Lauren Cohan Books ABC Pilot

Lauren Cohan is reportedly in the middle of negotiations with AMC over her salary for season nine of The Walking Dead, and she may have just thrown a big bargaining chip on the table.

Her exit was made all the more likely by the original report of her deadlock stating that she'd made herself available for the upcoming pilot season in the USA, and had already bagged several offers from other networks competing for her services.

Lauren Cohan has booked a new ABC show as her future with AMC's The Walking Dead remains uncertain.

The Walking Dead will return for the remainder of Season 8 beginning this Sunday, February 25. The show stars Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, Lauren Cohan as Maggie Rhee, Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes, Danai Gurira as Michonne, Melissa McBride as Carol Peletier, Lennie James as Morgan Jones, Alanna Masterson as Tara Chambler, Josh McDermitt as Eugene Porter, Christian Serratos as Rosita Espinosa and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Negan. As of right now, the actress does not have a contract in place to bring her back for episodes beyond Season Eight's finale. Alternatively, Whiskey Cavalier might not be picked up to series and AMC would re-gain any upper hand in the negotiations and Cohan would still have the choice of whether or not she wishes to return.

Written by Hemingson, Whiskey Cavalier, from WBTV and Lawrence's studio-based Doozer Prods., follows the adventures of Federal Bureau of Investigation agent Will Chase (codename: Whiskey Cavalier) - played by Foley - who, following an emotional break-up, is assigned to work with quick, cunning and completely fearless Central Intelligence Agency operative Francesca "Frankie" Trowbridge (codename: Fiery Tribune) - played by Cohan.

A failure to get the contract signed could even mean that Maggie dies off-screen between seasons - something that will only make fans even angrier. She'll play the female lead alongside Scandal actor Scott Foley, leading fans to wonder if her time in the zombie apocalypse is limited? Produced by Bill Lawrence, Foley's character is an Federal Bureau of Investigation agent who has to work with a "quick and cunning" CIA operative (played by Cohan) to lead an inter-agency team of spies to save the world while "navigating the rocky roads of friendship, romance, and office politics".
