Zuma Is Finally Forced Out of the South African Presidency

In describing Zuma's departure, Malema said the former president's "legacy of corruption" is now in the "dustbin of history".

He said: "We are going to join the DA motion on the dissolution".

ANC tradition is that the party leader is the state president; when Thabo Mbeki was defeated as party leader in 2008, he resigned the presidency following his recall by the party.

14 de febrero de 2018, 16:01Pretoria, Feb 14 (Prensa Latina) The parliamentary group of the ruling African National Congress (ANC) unanimously voted today to back a motion of no confidence against President Jacob Zuma, which will be debated tomorrow in the legislative body unless he resigns earlier.

In his very ignorant, arrogant and politically illiterate articulation, Jacob Zuma says he does not know why he had to leave the office of the president. We want to see him suffer until the end, for what he did to a generational mission.

Malema admitted he felt robbed by the fact that he would not be leading a motion of no confidence against Zuma.

"People were scared of him and did not want to contest him, and then Zuma was the only available person who was ready to challenge Mbeki, because he had nothing to lose", Malema told the M&G.

Nevertheless, it is unlikely that the ANC leadership, long intimidated by Zuma, has ever spoken to him in such plain terms.

Zuma painted himself as a victim as he explained that he had not been told by the ANC top officials why he had to resign.

This is when he started seeing the first signs of state capture, Malema said.

"I remember one day we were in Northern Cape he came with the Gupta's chopper and I even asked someone next to me: 'whose chopper is this?' They said it was the Guptas, they are the ones sponsoring him".

Zuma made the announcement during a live television broadcast on Wednesday night.

But the EFF's Julius Malema reportedly said the EFF would use Parliament to hold Ramaphosa to account for his role in the Marikana massacre. "I was defeated by the majority", said Zuma.
