Australia announce Chris Lynn's replacement for ODI series against England

Former Australia Twenty20 captain White told RSN Radio this time a year ago: "You can get picked to play for Australia in any format out of the Big Bash, really".

Australia have added Cameron White to their squad for the upcoming ODI series against England.

Chris Lynn's injury-enforced absence from the five-match contest has prompted 34-year-old White's recall after nearly three years out of the system, with Glenn Maxwell once again overlooked. It doesn't make a lot of sense.

White has been one of the premier performers in the BBL, sitting second on the run scoring charts with 285 at an average of 142.5.

"In terms of unfinished business or call it what you like, it's a good feeling that I'm in a better position to be successful now than I was when I left after having the last go".

Neds have Maxwell's Melbourne Stars at a long-shot $81 to win the BBL, with White's Renegades at $3.75 - equal favourites with the Adelaide Strikers. However, White's selection came as a surprise as the veteran himself thought that his global career was nearly over.

"Trevor disagreed at the time". Hopefully I can.Making a few runs in the Big Bash hasn't hurt. "I probably did think [I wouldn't get picked again] but in the back of my mind I never did give up all hope".

"I've got no idea (where I'll bat), we've got a team meeting coming up shortly so I might get a bit more of an idea there. He's playing very well", selector Trevor Hohns said in a statement on Thursday, referring to White's impressive displays for Melbourne Renegades in this year's Big Bash League.
