Author Of Error-filled Trump Book: Yeah, I Caused Steve Bannon's Downfall

Author and journalist Michael Wolff's new book Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House has lived up to its title, bringing fire to former White House Chief Strategist Steve Bannon and eliciting fury from the president.

Portraying Donald Trump's orange hair as a giant flame, the magazine cover depicts what has often been a tumultuous and controversial year for the president.

The book, released last week, paints a mixed image of Trump inside the White House, raising questions about the competence about the current occupant of the Oval Office. Wolff said Wilbur Ross was Trump's choice for labor secretary; it was actually commerce secretary.

"Saying 'knowingly false things while the money pours into your bank account?' Not only is that Trump's business plan in its entirety - it's literally what they're going to write on his headstone: 'He knowingly said false things while money poured into his bank accounts, '" he added.

The Daily Beast reported that former White House Special Counsel William Burck will represent Bannon during the interview.

Michael Wolff's "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House" is the hottest book in the country right now, and that popularity is having some unintended consequences. The White House has been quick to suggest that the book is a work of fiction.

Trump, of course, prevailed in the election, and he landed on the cover of the November 22, 2016, issue of Time as "president-elect" and again in December of that year, when Time magazine declared him "president of the divided states of America" in naming him "Person of the Year". The caption reads: "Year One".

"Steve pretends to be at war with the media, which he calls the opposition party, yet he spent his time at the White House leaking false information to the media to make himself seem far more important than he was".

Bannon is of interest to House investigators for his time working on the Trump campaign. Quotes from the tweets such as "my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart", have since become fodder for late-night comedy hosts.

"I nearly want to say I can't tell you what the truth is". I've just written a book.

Some tend to think that to Steve Bannon, it's all a big game, and eventually he will find his way back into President Trump's good graces.

"Fire and Fury" is based on Wolff's series of interviews with those involved in the Trump administration, and McNamara is confident that it is "an accurate report on events of vital public importance".
