Winter storm warning remains in effect, 5-7 inches of snow forecast

In Maryland, the National Weather Service was predicting up to four inches of snow by late Saturday.

The lower Hudson Vallley could see several inches of snow today from the East Coast storm that dropped 6 inches of snow in MS and Alabama. Areas south and east of I-195 will see the most snowfall this weekend.

Lake Charles to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, is under a winter weather advisory, while Jackson, Mississippi, is under a winter weather warning.

Baltimore residents may wake up to snow Saturday morning. In Edinburg, near Brownsville, one inch of snow fell.

Winter storm watches have been issued for the Tug Hill counties of Jefferson, Lewis and Oswego, ; and the Western New York counties of Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, and southern Erie.

A Winter Storm Warning is in effect until 1 a.m. Sunday for parts of South Jersey. New York City will see 3 to 5 inches between noon and 6 p.m., and the New England coast could see up to 6 inches, according to the National Weather Service.

The storm is expected to move north to eastern Canada by Sunday morning.

At 5:00 PM radar showed bands of light to moderate snow falling across much of the state. The Pacific Northwest and Upper Midwest, however, will see less precipitation than normal.
