The viral challenge that people are falling over themselves to try

Finally, when you're jumping over with your other leg, your foot that's going over the box has to be higher than your standing foot. Social media users are going insane trying the invisible box challenge.

College football player Dontez Hines originated the challenge in August when he tweeted a video of himself miming "stepping over" a box.

Other videos show internet users hilariously stumbling over their feet.

After trends like the Ice Bucket Challenge, bottle flip challenge, mannequin challenge, cinnamon challenge, here is the new online fad that involves nothing the "invisible box". But the foot manipulation is harder than Olivar makes it look. Judy John Baptiste, a dance teacher at the Basement Dance Studio, says imagining the box is the "first and foremost" thing you need to do.

In a video posted on YouTube, dancer Marcos Grados, from Guadalajara, Mexico, also manages to incorporate the move in to one of his routine.

Men's Health fitness editor Ebenezer Samuel broke the move down, explaining: "All [the] hip stabilisers on the right side are firing on overtime to hold that hip in position".

"You'll notice (the) body rotates toward the leg on the step as well; there's a ton of oblique and ab stability maintaining that position".

The leg that's stepping on the box uses a great deal of hip flexor, glute and core stability. Here's how it works: You bend over to pat an invisible box, pretend to step on said box, and hop over it with your other leg. Sounds simple enough, right? "I still can not believe how much attention it has gotten".
