Unlocked iPhone X Now Available in the US

Apple iPhone X production has stabilized more than a month after the flagship smartphone was initially made available to customers. Yet even despite the rumored shortages of face-scanning camera tech and OLED displays, Apple has done an admirable job of getting stock back on track after the initial few weeks. The new option, listed under SIM-free, let's you purchase the iPhone X unlocked, meaning you can freely bring it to any carrier or use it with a prepaid SIM card. With a model like this, the owner can swap out their SIM with one from a different carrier and use it on the same phone without worrying about whether it is compatible. Delivery for both configurations and colors are slated for December 13, which is consistent with the carrier-supported units.

Note that if you go with the SIM-free model, you can't take advantage of any carrier financing options and need to pay for the phone in full ($999 for the 64GB model or $1,149 for 256GB version). The option also exists to pick up the phone from your local Apple Store, assuming there is one nearby. The new option, available from Apple's online store in the United States, allows customers to buy an iPhone X without having to commit to or otherwise have an account with one of the nation's top carriers (AT&T, Verizon, Sprint or T-Mobile).
