Lamborghini Finally Unveiled its Brand New Urus SUV

"One Urus we played around with had a Vbox data logger in it, and using launch control I was able to pop off a 3.59-second 0-62 miles per hour run", he wrote, noting that Maurizio Reggiani, Lamborghini's director, managed a time of 3.43 seconds. The Urus is said to offer easy driving in the city, maximum comfort during long journeys, thrilling super sports auto dynamics on the road and track, plus versatile off-road abilities in a range of environments.

The Italian manufacturer brands it as a "super sports utility vehicle" thanks to its sports car-like performance and dynamic looks. The sharp creases, deep cuts, and swooping roofline altogether reflects that the SUV is a mean machine.

In direct competition with the Bentley Bentayga and the versions most exclusive in the Porsche Cayenne, the Urus uses a twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter developing 650 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque.

The Lamborghini Urus will accelerate to 62mph in 3.6 seconds and eventually top out at 195mph.

In comparison, Lamborghini's Huracan Performante, which comes with a V10 engine, goes from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds and has a top speed of nearly 202 miles per hour. These are impressive performance figures for a large SUV.

Lamborghini unveiled the all-new Urus SUV on Monday in a presentation that could best be described as shambolic. The rear has either a three-seat bench with Isofix points or an optional two-seat configuration.

Comfort features include 12-way adjustable heated driver and front passenger seats as standard, with an option of an 18-way adjustable seat.

Just like other Lamborghini's the Urus name is also derived from bulls, which is an extinct wild ancestor of domestic cattle.

The SUV "allows you to travel on any terrain: on road, off road, on ice but also on sand dunes", said Lamborghini research and development director Maurizio Reggiani, suggesting it will be the fastest SUV on the market.
