Hit crime series Mindhunter to return for Season 2 on Netflix

Next year we're looking at the Atlanta child murders, so we'll have a lot more African-American music which will be nice.

While it's been rumored for quite some time, it appears that a Mindhunter season 2 renewal is finally a go at Netflix.

Given that it was an immediate favorite among enthusiastic (and freaked out!) fans when the first season dropped, we have no doubt that people will be thrilled to learn that there are more creep-tastic stories coming from the Mindhunter folks for at least one more season.

The series follows Federal Bureau of Investigation agents attempting to understand and catch serial killers in the 1970s.

The series is produced by David Fincher and Charlize Theron.

Mindhunter stars Jonathan Groff as Holden Ford, Holt McCallany as Bill Tench, Anna Torv as Wendy Carr, Hannah Gross as Debbie Mitford and newcomer Cameron Britton as serial killer Edmund Kemper. Oscar nominated filmmaker David Fincher serves as an executive producer and also directed multiple episodes in the first season, revisiting similar true-crime territory that he previously explored in his 2007 film "Zodiac".

Truth be told, the first season had us hooked and with a 96% on Rotten Tomatoes, it was lauded by critics for its reinvention of the crime procedural, when it premiered in October.

Now we just have to wait for season two. Mindhunter features Groff as an Federal Bureau of Investigation agent who tracks down serial killers and rapists.
