'I Can't Say I Haven't Done That'

Senator Al Franken, back at the Capitol for the first time since groping accusations emerged almost two weeks ago, gave no indication on Monday that his political career was in peril, telling reporters that he would work to try to regain the trust of women, voters and his colleagues. Franken also declined to say whether he thought the behavior he is accused of would be grounds for resignation.

"I know that I've let a lot of people down, people of Minnesota, my colleagues, my staff, my supporters, and everyone who has counted on me to be a champion for women", he said.

In a second interview with WCCO, when asked if he ever groped a woman's butt, Franken admitted, "I can't say I haven't done that". "I know there are no magic words that I can say to regain your trust and I know that's going to take time", he said. However, Franken would not acknowledge that he groped women or grabbed their buttocks. I'm not going to make any excuses. "I am trying to take responsibility by apologizing". "I am going to be accountable".

The Democratic senator and former comedian told reporters on Capitol Hill he was "tremendously sorry", adding: "This has been a shock, and it's been extremely humbling".

"Well, I think I'm a good questioner and the questions that I am asking don't go to my credibility". Tweeden also posted a photo of Franken smiling for the camera as he held his hands above her chest while she slept wearing a flak vest aboard a military plane on the same tour. "I have apologized to her and I was very grateful that she accepted my apology". I apologize. I feel bad for letting so many people down.

Nevertheless, Franken refuses to even consider resigning, and when asked about stepping down, he dutifully refers to a senate ethics committee looking into this.

"I have not worked with the Ethics Committee before and I don't know how it works, but I'm certainly open to that", he said. Al Franken of groping them have told similar accounts of the alleged incidents, while the fourth presented photographic evidence.

Franken said that he did not remember touching women inappropriately, but said that he posed for "thousands of pictures". Franken, who was a senator at time, said he didn't remember the picture but expressed remorse that Menz felt "disrespected".

Senator Franken is not up for re-election until 2020, more than two years away.

"I'm someone who, you know, hugs people", Franken told Minnesota Public Radio on Sunday.

"I understand I am going to have to do everything I can going forward to be enormously sensitive", he said during the interview. One woman said Franken groped her in 2007 during a photo at the Minnesota Women's Political Caucus.

Franken issued a statement to the site, saying, "It's hard to respond to anonymous accusers, and I don't remember those campaign events".
