Asus Zenfone Max Plus (M1) launched with dual cameras, 18:9 display

After launching its first bezel-less smartphone with an 18:9 aspect ratio display - the Pegasus 4S - in China earlier this month, Asus has now unveiled its second near bezel-less 18:9 display-sporting smartphone called the ZenFone Max Plus (M1). First off, Asus ZenFone Max Plus (M1) is a purely mid-range smartphone that runs Android 7.0 Nougat with ZenUI 4.0 on top.

The ASUS Zenfone Max Plus (M1) comes with a 5.7-inch IPS LCD screen and supports a screen resolution of 1080 x 2160 pixels (reported here). The new handset has been listed on Asus Russia's official website, with a probable launch in other countries including India very much likely in the coming days.

Zenfone Max Plus (M1) comes with dual camera setup with 16 megapixels and 8 megapixels sensor.

The Asus ZenFone Max Plus M1 is powered by octa-core MediaTek MT6750 processor and it comes with 2GB of RAM. The storage is expandable up to 256GB with microSD. The secondary sensor also has a wide-angle lens.

It has 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and Global Positioning System connectivity options. As the name suggests, the phone joins its battery phone series Max and comes with large 4130 mAh battery.

The Zenfone Max Plus (M1) is backed by a 4130mAh battery, which is rated to deliver up to 26 hours of talk time on the 3G network and 13 hours of video playback.

As for the optics, the smartphone will feature a dual-camera setup at the back.

There are still no details on price, release date, or availability from ASUS, but we'll let you know when we have more news; given the Russian Federation listing, it's likely that the Max Plus (M1) will first go on sale there though. It is powered by a 4,130mAh non-removable battery which supports the company's PowerMaster technology, but there is no fast charging support.
