Civilization VI: Rise and Fall Expansion Announced with February 8 Release

The introduction of the great ages, for example, will allow your civilization to ebb and flow between Dark Ages and Golden ages as you reach historic milestones, providing specific challenges or bonuses based on your in-game actions.

Released in October of previous year, Civilization VI is the latest in the grand legacy of Sid Meier's Civilization, one of the greatest and longest-running simulation series of all time. Additionally, there will be 8 new civilisations and 9 leaders to master and as you'd expect these also bring with them new units, districts, wonders, buildings, and so on. Civilizations can now go through Dark Ages, Golden Ages, as well as Heroic Ages, with each age giving cultures various challenges to overcome and bonuses to make use of.

Cities now have their own loyalty too - and how strong it is will have a direct impact on the resources you can get from that city. Governors, a new unit, can be recruited and used to keep a city loyal, while also conferring a wide variety of bonuses that can aid a city's specialization. The alliance system will be enhanced, and when a civilization becomes too powerful other civilizations will be able to join a pact against it to earn rewards or penalties.

NEW LEADERS AND CIVS: Nine leaders and eight new civilizations are introduced. The new content will release on February 8, bringing with it major changes to the ebb and flow of gameplay. Furthermore, we're promised gameplay tweaks including an enhanced Government system with new policies, and a new Timeline feature that allows you to look back over your civilisation's various achievements.
