Actress Naya Rivera charged with domestic battery

Naya Rivera is facing a domestic battery charge after allegedly attacking her husband, Ryan Dorsey, in West Virginia.

Late in the night of November 25, 2017, Deputy T. Dubiel of the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office was dispatched to an address on 126th Street in Chesapeake, WV for a domestic violence complaint. The sheriff's office press release stated, "The Deputy saw minor injuries consistent with his statement".

Rivera was taken into custody and released on a one-thousand dollar bond.

In the footage Rivera is told she is being charged with "misdemeanor domestic battery".

Dorsey gave police a cell phone video of the assault, leading to Rivera's arrest, according to the complaint.

Kalea Gunderson, a local reporter, asked Rivera her if she wanted to say anything, but the Glee star didn't respond. In her 2016 memoir, "Sorry Not Sorry: Dreams, Mistakes and Growing Up", Rivera explained that their personalities clashed.

Rivera and Dorsey were Wednesday in July 2014 in a small, private ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Rivera and Dorsey have a 2-year-old son together. "We will continue to be great co-parenting partners for him". Dorsey is a fellow actor, and has made appearances in "Southland" and FX comedy "You're the Worst". Rivera, an actress since early childhood, dating back to CBS' 1991-1992 Redd Foxx-Della Reese sitcom "The Royal Family", most recently starred in the YouTube Red series "Step Up: High Water".
