Manushi Chillar is a 20 years old trained Kuchipudi dancer trained under legendary dancers Kaushalya Reddy and Raja and Radha Reddy.

Manushi Chillar went on to become Miss India in June 2017 and successfully represented India at the Miss World 2017 pageant held in China on Saturday, November 18, just one day before the nation was all set to celebrate the 100th birth anniversay of Indira Gandhi, the first woman prime Minister of India.

Born in Rohtak town, around 70 km from New Delhi, on May 14, 1997, Manushi studied in St. Thomas School in New Delhi. "She got fame and name to country by winning Miss World crown".

When nearer to winning the title after making it to the final 5, Manushi was asked which profession deserved the biggest salary and why. To this, she replied, "A mother deserves the highest respect". My mother is the biggest inspiration to me.

Chillar is the sixth Indian to win the coveted crown.

It's been 17 years since the country has won the title, according to the Miss India twitter account, and the sixth time an Indian woman has been crowned the victor. Among the many was Miss World 2000 victor Priyanka Chopra.
