OnePlus 5T first impressions: A worthy successor for the OnePlus 5

This is going to be a USP for the OnePlus 5T.

If you're interested in purchasing the OnePlus 5t, the company will begin sales on its website on November 21 for customers in North America and Europe.

Keeping that in mind, if you're looking to the OnePlus 5T as an upgrade that will serve you with a new version of Android software, that won't really be the case until the end of next month, and that's if the software is actually pushed out on time. You get a 6-inch Full HD+ AMOLED screen with 2106 ×1080 pixels.

The lack of OIS always hurt the OnePlus 5 so the company's is trying to fix that with something called Intelligent Pixel Technology.

The new OnePlus 5T is excellent - a huge, crisp screen and screaming performance - but it's coming from a company that is dangerously close to annoying its fans and appearing like it has run out of ideas, even though it hasn't. After weeks of speculations, and leaks that revealed the phone much in advance, the OnePlus 5T has been launched in India.

Little has changed on the front camera though, as both are 16-megapixels.

The device comes in two variants - 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant priced at Rs 32,999 while the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant priced at Rs 37,999 in India. The effect covers nearly the entirety of the front face of the phone, as the display stretches nearly entirely to the left and right edges while leaving only half a centimetre of bezel at the top and bottom.

The camera is the other notable change, with OnePlus replacing the telephoto lens for another F1.7 lens with the same focal length as the primary shooter. The device's aluminum shell lends the phone a high-end look, though it does preclude the inclusion of wireless charging. For the OnePlus 5T, the Oreo testing starts later next month.

You can also double tap the power button to quickly take a picture when the screen is off. The 2017 has undeniably been the year of bezel-less screens and OnePlus, despite being in the premium was missing out on the biggest trend. OnePlus pushes you on set up to use its new font "OnePlus Slate" which is toying with a comic sans vibe at times. There have been few updates on the camera including the low light photography experience, better portraits better video stabilization.

The front 16-megapixel camera comes with Sony's IMX 371 sensor with f/2.0 aperture, which also allowed OnePlus to implement Face Unlock, one of the first for OnePlus smartphones.

The other significant change is in the camera. OnePlus 5T will come running Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box, but with an improved Oxygen OS that has support for stuff like Parallel Apps.

Of course, the goal of the dual-cameras is to offer that cool portrait mode - wherein subjects remain sharp, while the background is blown out with that creamy bokeh effect. It's still got top-of-the-line specs with a Snapdragon 835 processor, 6GB/8GB of RAM, 64GB/128GB of storage, Dash Charge fast-charging, and 16MP selfie camera. Now, you can swipe up and down to access all of the different camera modes.
