In a race against time, Ridley Scott cuts out Kevin Spacey

In an unprecedented move, Kevin Spacey's performance in "All the Money in the World" will be cut and his scenes reshot - six weeks before the movie's release.

More fallout from the sexual harassment allegations against actor Kevin Spacey, as the Oscar victor is cut from an already shot movie, set to hit theaters within weeks.

It was agreed upon by all parties involved that Spacey's scenes would be re-shot, and Christopher Plummer will take his place in the role of J Paul Getty. Co-stars Michelle Williams and Mark Wahlberg will be part of the reshoot, Deadline Hollywood reported.

It follows nine other allegations, ranging from inappropriate sexual conduct to assault and groping. Plummer, 87, was reportedly Scott's first choice to play the role of the cold billionaire, but Scott was forced to pick a "bigger name" for the role, the AP reported.

Despite the age difference between the two actors - at 87, Plummer is nearly 30 years Spacey's senior - the recasting will come as a welcome development for director Ridley Scott.

The film was originally set to have its world premiere at the AFI Fest in Los Angeles on November 16 but was pulled earlier this week amid the sexual harassment reports surrounding Spacey, who has also been fired from "House of Cards" and dropped by his talent agency and publicist. Plummer won an Oscar for his work on Beginners.

"To Kevin Spacey, I want to say this: Shame on you for what you did to my son", Unruh said, flanked by her daughter and lawyer Mitchell Garabedian, who has represented hundreds of clergy sexual abuse victims.

Spacey's former publicist said last week that the actor was "taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment".

The latest accusation against Spacey came Wednesday, when a former television news anchor accused him of sexually molesting her son previous year when he was 18.
